So you decided to throw a Tea Party, for either yourself, daughter, and friend, and need some help with the planning and menu.
Here I will give tips on How to Prepare for the Perfect Tea Party.
The first place to start is to decide what theme you party will have and what age group it will be geared towards. From many of my tea parties, my sister and I did theme around our favorite book, where we and our guests had to dress up as our favorite character.
Next, decide where you party will be, such as in your own home, outdoors, or a special venue, such as British Tea Room Restaurant. I have had tea parties several occasions at my own home and at a Tea Room Restaurant, and both have been beautiful and charming.
After deciding the theme and the location, then comes the fun part of deciding what to eat and how to decorate for the occasion.
When deciding what to eat, I like to thumb through some magazines, such as Tea Time, Southern Lady, and Victoria. Many of the sweets for my tea parties are made from those magazines. Thus, I will encourage you to search around. There is no right or wrong thing to make for a party. As long as you and your guests will enjoy the sweets.
Next, is deciding how to decorate. If your party is around spring or summer time, why not decorate with fresh flowers, with flowing lace table cloths, and ribbon and silver as your center piece. Here is a picture of my most recent table decoration, note that is its not quite finished, but you can get the picture.
Likewise, if your party is in the fall or winter, it will be great to dress up your table with warm colors, to cheer everyone from the gloom and cold of winter.
One final thought is to have fun with the preparation. Make memories, and enjoy your fellowship with you friends.
Happy planning and partying,
Alyssa
