We all are busy. But we need to have times where we completely take our minds off of work so that we can have a healthy work and life balance.
In today’s post, I will be sharing how to use popular habits so that you can relax throughout the day.
Let’s start with the first one.
Proper Morning Exercises
Are you the one the gets out of bed, or rather rolls out of bed without so much of a thought about stretching? You stumble and make your way to the kitchen to put on a pot of coffee and wonder why you feel so tight and disoriented.
As we have been lying in sometimes odd positions for seven to eight hours, our bodies need some stretches to help with circulation and relieve any tension in the body. I like to get out of bed and put on YouTube videos dedicated to face and body massages. I love to do this before doing my morning workout as it helps get me awake and warms the body so I can work out without injury.
So, make it your habit to do at least a few minutes of stretching. I promise you will feel all the tension from the night before start to disappear.
Proper Preparation for Work or Study
Are you one of those who just go to your desk and try to figure out what is most important? Do you have mountains of papers on your desk that if it happened to fall you would not be able to find anything?
We all need to prepare well so that we can work without any problems.
I like to plan out the night before what my most important task that I need to accomplish in the morning. That way I don’t have to waste any time and get right to work.
So try to get organized. Sometimes taking a full day just to sort through work papers is necessary to be more productive nd relaxed at work. I usually make Saturdays my day to just do planning and paperwork. That way, when Monday comes around, I am ready and even excited to start working.
Take time Stretch throughout the Day
Throughout the day, make sure to take a few moments to stretch. As this will help the muscles in the face, neck, back, abdomen get a breather. I try to take a five minute break to stretch. Doing this has really helped with the tension I have in my neck, back, and abdomen from sitting for long periods of time.
Focus on the Present
So often we are thinking about the past or the problems and needs of the future, that we forget to just be. So, take a moment to look out the window. Look at your favorite picture or quote and be present in the moment. I find that when I take a moment to just be still and just think on when I am doing currently, then I become much more relaxed. Then I am able to return to work refreshed and restored.
Relation Teas
Here are a few teas that will help with relaxation
Lavender Tea
Lavender tea helps with relaxation with its calming aroma. Having it as a tea can help calm and ease tight muscles, while also relieving stress. It has been used throughout the centuries to help with nervousness and tension. So, whenever you are feeling tight, or agitated, try lavender tea.
Chamomile Tea
Chamomile tea is also aa good choice. It has many of the same benefits of Lavender tea in that it can help with anxiety and relieving stress. When taken before bed, it can help calm the mind and body, readying it for rest.
This is one of my favorite teas to take when I have occasional insomnia. I don’t have any problems after I drink a cup or two. So if you are having trouble sleeping due to stress, try Chamomile tea.
